FAQ

Common questions about vehicle registration, driving licences, and public transit.

The Ministry of Transport is the department of the Government of Links Land responsible for roads, vehicle registration and licensing, and public transit across the Constitutional Monarchy of Links Land. The Ministry maintains and oversees the national road network, administers vehicle registration and driving licences, and sets policy for public transit services, working alongside other departments of the Government of Links Land.

Vehicles kept or used in Links Land must be registered with the Ministry of Transport before they are used on public roads. Registration assigns the vehicle a national number plate in the standard Links Land format (the “LL” country code, a registration mark, and a county code) and links the vehicle to a registered keeper. For step-by-step guidance or to start a registration inquiry, contact the Ministry using the form on the Contact page and select “Vehicle Registration”.

Driving licences are issued and renewed by the Ministry of Transport as part of its vehicle registration and licensing remit. Requirements and renewal timelines are set out in the Highway Code and associated road traffic legislation, maintained on the separate Links Land legislation site. For guidance on applying for a new licence or renewing an existing one, contact the Ministry through the form on the Contact page and select “Vehicle Registration”.

The Ministry of Transport sets policy for, and provides oversight of, public transit services across Links Land. This includes coordinating with transit operators and monitoring service standards. Questions about routes, schedules, or specific transit services can be submitted through the Contact form under “Public Transit”.

The Ministry of Transport is responsible for the maintenance, safety, and infrastructure oversight of the national road network in Links Land. This covers routine maintenance, road safety programmes, and oversight of major infrastructure projects. To report a road issue or ask about a specific stretch of road, use the Contact form and select “Roads”.

The Highway Code and other road traffic legislation are maintained on the Government of Links Land's legislation site, separate from this Ministry website. This site provides an overview of the Ministry's remit and services; for the text of the Highway Code and related law, visit the legislation site linked in the footer of this page.
